In addition to offering a 24 hour schedule of quality radio, WCBU operates a Radio Information Service (RIS) providing readings of local, state and national publications to hundreds of people in the coverage area who are blind, visually impaired, or otherwise print handicapped over a special sub channel of the main signal. Radios equipped to pick up the special channel are made available free of charge to listeners who are in need of the service.
WCBU relies on membership support to maintain daily operations, and makes extensive use of volunteers. Volunteers assist with fundraisers, special events and serve as announcers, reading publications on the RIS broadcasts.

Tickets only available until December 12th!

Join us on Saturday, December 17th (6:30pm) and Sunday the 18th (1pm) at Coyote Creek Golf Club for "A Very Mary Madrigal" - a Madrigal Dinner feaste.  Enjoy a full dinner catered by Catering Peoria, a troupe of actors, an adult Madrigal choir, and two children's choirs for this great Holiday evening.  Tickets are $35 per person or $265 for a table of 8 and must be purchased by December 12th.  Tickets can be purchased by calling 309-455-4095 -- the last two years of this event have sold out, so don't wait to secure your reservation!

In "A Very Mary Madrigal," after their convent has burned to the ground (thanks to Sister Mary Grace), a group of Nuns are forced to seek refuge at Coyote House.  As if the extra Nuns weren't enough stress already, a message arrives that a special visitor is due to arrive from a neighboring village and plans to take Coyote's Wench back to their town for punishment after she destroyed the property of the Duke last year.  In order to save the herself, the Wench is forced to go into hiding as Sister Mary Maid, leaving her aide Clora in charge of the evening.  Calamity ensues as Clora's power goes to her head with many changes (few of them good) and a visiting Monk is unknowingly enlisted by the Jester to help uncover the clues of the evening, all while the Wench does her best to live up to her newly taken vow of silence.

Coming in 2017!
by Melanie Marnich
During the 1920s and 30s, hundreds of young Illinois women enjoyed well-paying jobs at Ottawa's Radium Dial Company, where they decorated watch faces with luminescent, and highly toxic, radium paint. Based on the historical record and landmark legal case, this inspirational play celebrates the friendship and solidarity among four of these "Radium Girls," who discover their independence as working women and fight for vindication when they are considered expendable.

The Bone House
by Marty Chan

** Rated R - no one under 16 admitted **

Directed by Robin Berkley
This bone-chilling piece of immersive theatre from Canada has been shocking audiences since the 1990s. In this suspense thriller, an audience comes to hear a lecture about serial killers by self-proclaimed mind hunter Eugene Crowley, who takes the audience on a journey into the mind of the world's most notorious serial killers such as Dahmer, Bundy and Gacy. In addition, Crowley wants to alert, convince and provide proof to the audience that there is a serial killer on the loose who has eluded capture and taunts authorities. The Bone House is not for the faint of heart and is a true psychological experiment about the nature of fear, imagination and insight into our fascination and deification of serial killers. WARNING: could cause nightmares.
Rated R for mature themes and language;
absolutely no one under 16 years of age admitted.
Produced by special arrangement with The Playwrights Guild of Canada
